Eelco Wijbrands

‘The road to success is always under construction.’

Core competencies: business development, project management and energy savings

Born in Veendam, raised in het Hoogeland and in the city of Groningen. Eelco is a true Groninger who has experienced the local impact of natural gas extraction up close and quickly thought; this can and must be done differently. He is a good listener and can clearly identify the client’s needs in order to give the best advice.

After working for a Distribution System Operator for four years, it was time for something different. An organization where he can make a big impact; Summit Engineering.

Together we can do this!

Eelco was trained as a sports manager, where problems were always approached from a pragmatic point of view. These skills are very useful in his role at Summit as a project leader. A positive attitude and a hands-on mentality best describe his disposition.

As a boy of seventeen, Eelco flew to the United States to pursue the dream of becoming a professional basketball player. Once he landed, the host family selected for him had pulled out. He then had a choice to make, either go back to the Netherlands or make the best of it. He chose the latter. This required great adaptability at a young age. This adaptability is what is needed now
regarding the energy transition. Going back is not an option. Forward; the energy transition has long since transcended politics and is unstoppable.
